Join us in the European Fire Safety Week 2024!

We are two months away from the next European Fire Safety Week (EUFSW), which will start on 18th November 2024. Similar to previous years, the European Fire Safety Alliance, together with its partners, has prepared several interesting events aimed at improving fire safety in Europe and strengthening the implementation of the European Fire Safety Action Plan.

The EUFSW 2024 will once again tackle the pressing fire safety challenges facing Europe today. Throughout the week, EU decision-makers, academics, researchers, firefighters, and other key stakeholders will gather for workshops, webinars, and high-level discussions on critical topics including:
• Fire safety and sustainability
• Strategies and technologies for safer homes
Implementation of fire and electrical safety measures under the revised Energy performance of Building Directive (organised by FEEDS)
• The role of flame retardants in modern society
• Additionally, a webinar co-organized with the European Commission’s DG MOVE will address the fire safety of electric vehicles and recharging infrastructure in covered parking areas, highlighting existing and upcoming EU legislation, challenges, and best practices

Because the main theme of this year’s EUFSW is ‘fire safety of most vulnerable’, the European Smoke Alarm Day will be accompanied by next information campaign #smokealarmssevelives and a dedicated webinar focusing on how to increase smoke alarms use in domestic homes in Europe.

As the new term of the European Parliament and the European Commission sparks fresh debate on future fire safety priorities and the need for EU-level coordination and support, a high-level discussion with key EU policymakers will be held, in combination with a fire safety exhibition in the European Parliament.
